11.5 Weeks...

Things are going well. Marcus is about 11.5 lbs now. Man he's growing fast. He's out of his 0-3 month clothes. Yesterday I moved all the 0-3 clothes into bags and split all the 3-6 month clothes into the drawers in the dresser. Bought a few 3-6 month sleepers as I realized that I didn't have as many as I thought I did. I bought a few t-shirts from WalMart too; mistake. The rivits in the t-shirt popped on the first wear. Cheap crap. Oh well. I should know better, anyway. I'll just have to go to Children's Place at Vaughan Mills more often :D Pity. Hhehe....

Smiles are a blazing now. He's actually smiles pretty much on demand. He's mommy's little enterainment monkey, really. lol He's a happy baby - gotta admit. Except when he's hungry. Then Stop. The. World. He wants to be fed when HE wants to be fed. Not when you're done in the loo, finished showering, or sleeping peacfully. Leave him for more than a few mins and he starts this pitiful cry that expells all the air in his lungs until they're completely empty and then he tries to squeeze out just a little more. It's quite cute if it didn't break your heart that he's crying as hard as he can :)

He's back to sleeping for about 5 hours again. Only up once during the night (to mommy's delight!). He's also becoming quite aware of things when you put them in front of him. He's starting to bat at toys and pull at rattles now. Up until now, he's just been staring at stuff. Now he actually tries to reach out (although it still pretty spasmatic!). He likes the froggie in his bassinett. It's got little beads in it and it jingles nicely. He likes that one. It helps that it's got a black and white hanger on it - he seems to be attracted to that.

He is also holding up head pretty well now. I've put him in the Bumbo a few times although he doesn't seem quite ready to be in it for any length of time just yet.

Father's Day was great. Couldn't wait to get Marcus into his "I love Daddy" onsie :) Adorable, isn't he!! I also got a "S.P.G. (Spoiled By Grandpa)" Romper for Gramps :D Looks like a natural, no?? :) Somone had fun with Grandpa. :) Looks like Grandpa enjoyed himself too :)

  1. Tina, this is so great to hear about the day-to-day of being a mom! It brings back all kinds of memories. The best part, though, is that you seem to find the humour in it all. Like when he is hungry, nothing gets in his way! I remember all too clearly those cries, but I wasn't laughing very much. Congrats on keeping your sanity (and jokes) through it. He has a beautiful smile!
